Toil in the sunshine as Marshy's Men are put in the field on one of the hottest days of the year...

As always a review of the 3s game through the eyes of our very own Spacial ....excluding the mention of a certain golden duck!

On a scorcher of a day ‘The Wombles’ travelled to Congresbury CC.

Unfortunately Philip lost the toss and the host unsurprising elected to bat.

Both openers batted very well in the heat and put away numerous bad deliveries on a lightning quick outfield the Bristol CC bowlers toiled.

It took 43 overs and 1 ball for a wicket to fall, which then bought a second wicket the very next ball with the Lindop Matthew combination accounting for both.

Sir Loin dropped a chance for a hat trick off his own bowling which would have been a very odd feat in the context of the game.

The pick of the bowlers was Sam Matthews who bowled very economically as his 9 overs went for 29.

Credit to youngsters Matt Thompson and Ash Lakhani, who toiled away in the heat.

The host amassed 284-2 off their 45 overs.

Bristol’s chase was never up with the rate, apart from a few massive sixes from Sir Loin, and a solid partnership between Dog and Gwilliam with some positive hitting from Matt Thompson at the end it was a damp squid.

Finishing 154-7.
