The words of our very special Spacial...
Bristol fielded a strong side to take on Congresbury 2nds, even the dog wasn't required so he could assume his position on the bench surveying the glorious cricket on show.
After bubbles once again found an excuse not to play Adam Lee captained the side won the toss and inserted to opposition throwing the ball to Bristol Grammar Schools version of Glenn McGrath, he proceeded to bowl with extreme consistency not usually present in the B &D to an 8/1 field. He finished with remarkable figures of 8.3 overs 3 for 6, and if Birch didn't drop a sitter that went for 4 he would have gone for 2!!! You can tell I'm an accountant!
Once again he was abley assisted by Gary Hutton who is proving to be very reliable with the new ball.
Bristol possessed a strong bowling attack of Birch, Matthews and Sutor. With Lee, Blanks and Space not required to bring there talents to the game.
Clubman extraordinaire Michael Cox return after injury and baby duties and resumed the role of replacing the Ice Road as the third change off spinner.
Congresbury were all out for 149, with Jude 3, Matthews 3, Sutor, Birch, Hutton and 'the new road' MC Cox all with 1.
The biggest danger the the 3rd team winning would be an injury from the first team pitch but luckily Vier bowled down the hill!
Bristols Batters of the Vicar and Sammy Matthew made light work of the Congresbury total knocking off the runs in 14 overs.
